Foundation Mares

Belleza Negra CS ~ (DOB 3-18-88)

Sire: Atahualpa (*Dulce Sueno x Pan Dulce)

Dam: Corazon de Oro GTF (Aluvion x Encaje de Oro)

This true solid black mare was our first Peruvian Paso purchase.  She is an excellent producer, consistently foaling buckskin when bred to palomino, and black when bred to black.    She tends to decrease or eliminate white markings.  Leeza delivered an exquisite dun filly CLM Tejo de Oro on April 17, 2004 and has been bred back to Citacion for a 2005 foal.  Shown in above photo with HDE La Tronada within days of her birth.  Please view our sales page for photos of her dun filly.

               Armonia R-L ~ (DOB 6-23-96)

                   Sire: Alcazar (*Pincel x *Mensia)

Dam: Mi Peruana (Sol de Mojave x Azulita)

This 15-hand, big bodied chestnut mare consistently produces foals with   the sweetest of dispositions and wonderful gait.  Champion Junior Mare the only time shown, she has an excellent gait with flashy lift and wide loose termino.  Armonia delivered a darling chestnut colt by the golden palomino MSR Sher Khan (son of Antares) on August 2, 2004.

Mi Mikelita ~ (DOB 6-4-98)

Sire: El Condor (MJM Medallon de Oro x Obsesion de Lancero)

Dam: SH Maquinita (*AEV Oro Negro x SH Gala)

Kita is a sweet-natured golden palomino mare with a platinum mane and tail.  During the summer she has a metallic sheen to her coat; her winter coat is dappled.  Her nickname at the ranch is 'my little pony', because she has so much mane and tail (just like the children's toys).  She has a refined look to her, and elegant, animated movement with a very smooth gait under saddle.  Mikelita produced an exquisite buckskin colt (HDE Chimu) by El Colerico in June 2004, and will be bred to Diamonte del Norte in the Spring of 2006.

HDE Fantasma de Cabrita ~  (DOB 5-19-99)

Sire: El Condor (MJM Medallon de Oro x Obsesion de Lancero)

Dam: Belleza Negra CS (Atahualpa x Corazon de Oro GTF)

Cabrita is a big-bodied pale buttermilk buckskin (the lightest I have ever seen) with no white markings.  Many local people think she is a Kiger Mustang.  She is brio personified, She has an arrogance about her, an elegant natural high head carriage, and a wonderful gait.  Her first time under saddle away from the ranch she willingly crossed a wooden bridge, rode along the river,  and had to be the leader the entire time.  I am hoping this will be my show/parade horse.  Cabrita foaled a beautiful bay filly by Citacion in 2005, and now resides in Virginia.

RSV Picaflor ~ (DOB 4-23-94)

Sire: Zar TB (*Piloto x *Dulzura by AEV Regional)

Dam: Flor de Canete (*Piloto x *Soberana de Canete)

Pica is a chestnut mare who is close to 15-hands.  She has a nice gait with flashy action and high wide termino with incredible overreach.  The photo at the right was taken during her first time under saddle.  With enough patience, this mare will do her best to please.  Loads and leads great, but needs 'official' saddle training.  She produced a stunning bay colt by MJM Perulero Joven on July 5, 2003.   My special thanks to Diane of Boise, ID for the purchase of this fine mare, who has been bred to El Colerico for a 2005 foal.  Pica is currently in saddle training and doing well!

                                                   Talia ~ (DOB 6-9-85)

Sire: *Pincel (*Laurel x *Alondra de Oro)

Dam: *La Cucarda (Peruano x Violetta)

Talia is a big-bodied mare with a blonde mane and tail.  She has very clean legs with great bone and a wonderful gait.  A proven producer of high-quality foals, some shown as Champions.  Talia delivered a darling palomino colt by HDE Segoviano on April 21, 2004.  We are proud to announce both Talia and foal are doing well!  See Talia's pedigree HERE.

Flor de Pincel ~ (DOB 4-6-89)

Sire: *Pincel (*Laurel x *Alondra de Oro)

Dam: La Tentadora (Antares x *Eminencia)

Flor is a petite 14 hand chestnut mare with a blonde mane and tail.  She has a gait to die for, and is a thrill to ride with tons of brio.  This little mare had not been ridden in many years before she came to us, but took to a rider like her last ride was the day before.  Flor gave birth to an adorable and well-gaited chestnut filly (by CLM Tejo de Oro) with the sweetest  disposition on May 17, 2003, and we are pleased to announce both Flor and her filly are doing very well.  Flor was bred to MJM Perulero Joven for an August 2004 foal, who arrived August 8, 2004.  Please view this colt on our sales page.  He has a beautiful flaxen mane/tail and is reluctantly offered at $1800!

HDE La Tronada ~ (DOB 7-01)

Sire: MJM Perulero Joven (*Perulero x La Cabrita)

Dam: Beleza Negra CS (Atahualpa x Corazon de Oro GTF)

Tronada is a 5-year-old bay filly, our first foal by MJM Perulero Joven.  She is my son's baby, and is a nice moving filly with tons of mane just like her daddy.  If she is anything like her siblings, she should be an excellent all-purpose horse.  Reluctantly offered at $2200.

2000 Dun Kiger Mare ~  Xena

I just adopted these two Kiger Mustang mares, and as the photo shows the dun moves laterally like a paso does.  My hope is to use these two mares as a foundation for cross breeding smooth & reliable trail mounts when combined with my PP stallions.  Many people in the Eastern Oregon area have expressed an interest to me for reliable trail mounts with less energy than a Peruvian traditionally has, so I chose a breed with Spanish ancestry and potential for lateral movement to create part-bloods to fill this void.  Both mares have primitive marks including dorsal stripes and leg barring, and Kigers are known to be wonderful & dedicated horses with great minds, good bone and fine muzzles.

Azucena foaled a beautiful dun filly (turning grey) on Easter morning (see her photo on the sales list), April 11, 2004.  She is not gaited, but has the most wonderful lofty trot.  She really is a beautiful filly.  Both mares have been bred to El Colerico for  Peruvian Paso x Mustang foals in 2005.  Lets hope for gait out of both these foals!
